NASA is launching the ‘Perseverance’ rover for Mars on July 30, from Florida’s Cape Canaveral. Perseverance is a six-wheeled robot, its task is to deploy the ‘Ingenuity’ mini-helicopter which will hopefully pave way for future human missions. The 1.8 kg autonomous helicopter will test powered flight on Mars for the first time. Meanwhile, Perseverance will collect Martian rock samples for an eventual homecoming back to Earth around 2031.
